Education Assistance Program

Financial Support for School Children from Poor Families

In the current economic downturn in Bali, many families are too poor to pay the school fees to enable their children to attend school. The Foundation began this program in 2000 to help these children continue their schooling.

Children in need are located in villages in poor areas in Bali, and the donation is converted to Rupiah and deposited in a village bank account for the family to access each month. The money in the bank earns an attractive rate of interest which is compounded over the time it is held in the bank.

This assistance is not intended to cover all school expenses, but is designed to give the child a help-up in life rather than a hand-out.
