Pat Emery retired from a career in banking in 1991, after 39 years service with postings in Australia, New Guinea and Fiji. After obtaining a Diploma of Financial Planning through Deakin University, he joined Godfrey Pembroke Ltd Financial Planning Group for five years.
In 1986 an association was formed with John Fawcett personally , and regular visits to Bali since 1989 have kept Pat in touch with the Foundation’s work.
Pat joined The John Fawcett Foundation Inc Board in 2000 as Treasurer, a position he still holds. Additionally, he is Treasurer of the Neuromuscular Foundation of Western Australia Inc, an ongoing position he has held since 1990; and is also a member of the Management Committee and Trustee of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Western Australia.
Pat is a long standing Rotarian with West Perth Club which contributed financially and physically to enable the landing of the first mobile operating theatre in Bali, and thus the beginnings of The John Fawcett Foundation Inc. Pat’s association with Rotary was recognised in 1999 when he received Rotary’s highest award and was named a Paul Harris Fellow.
