George Georgis

As a qualified Optical Technician and Dispensing Optician, George has 25 years experience in the optical industry ranging from laboratory work to retail, management and training. For many years he managed is own Optometry practice in Western Australia. He has also been a TAFE Lecturer in Optical Dispensing since 1992.

George's involvement with The John Fawcett Foundation began in 1999 with a visit to Bali where he conducted his first training session with the staff at the eye hospital. Since then, he has returned on a yearly basis to continue the training and also that of the teams that go to remote villages with the mass eye screening program.

George has served on the consultative committee for the ABMEC, in particular in the area of clinical Optometry and Laboratory Production and is also the Equipment Coordinator for the Foundation in Western Australia.
